Two-Year-Old Airlifted After Boiling Water Burn, Police Say

The Wyckoff boy did not suffer life-threatening injuries as a result of the bur, authorities said.

A two-year-old Wyckoff resident was airlifted to the St. Barnabas Medical Center Burn Unit Sunday after an accident burned him with boiling water, Wyckoff authorities confirmed Wednesday afternoon.

“The child apparently pulled a cup or pot of hot water down and it hit him in the face,” Wyckoff Police Chief Benjamin Fox said.

A Medevac helicopter landed at the Sicomac Field Sunday and transported the boy to St. Barnabas, officials said.

Though Fox said he did not have an update on the boy’s condition Wednesday, the injuries he suffered as a result of the burn were “not life threatening,” he said.

According to Wyckoff Fire Chief Lou Graglia, the FD was dispatched to assist with and guide the landing of the helicopter.
