Two Charged in Assault of Relative

Police say a woman was allegedly assaulted by husband and son; she was taken to hospital for wounds to head

On July 15 at 1:01am, Wyckoff Police responded to a home to investigate a report of a domestic violence incident. Sgt. Daniel Kellogg, Ptl. Terrance Murphy and Ptl. Michael Demaio determined that a 46-year-old Wyckoff woman had been assaulted by both her 48-year-old husband and her 18-year-old son.

The investigation determined that an argument started between the woman and her son that became physical, police said. Her husband then allegedly got involved and assaulted her as well.

The woman was taken by Wyckoff Volunteer Ambulance Corps to the hospital for treatment of head injuries. Both men were charged with assault, released under $2,500 bail, and will appear in municipal court.
