Two-Alarm Fire on Shinnecock Trail
Thursday evening fire quickly extinguished by volunteer department.
The Franklin Lakes Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire at a home on Shinnecock Trail Thursday evening. The fire, which was in the roof of the house, was reported around 7:30 p.m. and was extinguished by 9 p.m.
According to officials, contractors had been doing some roofing work earlier in the day using a torch, which may have started the fire.
