Several stores in the Urban Farms Shopping Center were affected by a two-alarm fire that broke out Sunday morning, Franklin Lakes Fire Chief Ryan Dodd said Sunday afternoon.

The fire broke out in the façade of the shopping center near Delpino Restaurant and Urban Cleaners, the eve of the building, and on a common wall inside the restaurant at about 7:50 a.m. Sunday, Dodd said.

The fire was extinguished quickly and “crews overhauled the walls, ceiling, and roof to locate hot spots,” Dodd said.

Smoke from the fire entered several of the stores in the shopping center and caused some to close for business Sunday, Dodd said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, authorities said.

The borough’s FD, PD, ambulance corps, DPW, building department, fire prevention unit, and board of health, as well as mutual aid crews from Oakland, Midland Park, Wyckoff, Waldwick, Mahwah, and Fair Lawn, responded to the fire, officials said.
