Truck Severs Utility Pole, Cedar Hill Avenue Between Bohny and Wyckoff Closed

Police closed a small stretch of road Saturday morning near the Cedar Hill Avenue entrance to Route 208.

A vehicle accident Saturday morning shut down a main thoroughfare in Wyckoff leading to and from Route 208 at Cedar Hill Avenue. 

Police closed Cedar Hill Avenue between Bohny Drive and Wyckoff Avenue after a dump truck out of Clifton careened off the  road and split a utility pole in two. 

The Wyckoff, NJ Office of Emergency Management Facebook page reported the crash and subsequent closure at 10:42 on Saturday morning.

Wyckoff-Franklin Lakes Patch reader Michael Canova saw the aftermath of the accident.

"A landscaping truck hit a telephone pole and split the pole in two and the top of the pole is in the bed of the truck," he wrote.

Police were keeping people away from the scene of the crash, one Bohny Drive resident told Patch.

The resident also said that utilities at her home were unaffected; it appeared that nearby homes were also unaffected.

It is unclear when the road would reopen.
