Teens Charged with Marijuana Possession

Wyckoff, Franklin Lakes minors found near Memorial Field

Wyckoff police recorded the following arrests and reports recently:

  • Four area teenagers were arrested on Jan. 9 after police said they were found with marijuana.

Patrolman William Plisich was on patrol at approximately 10:22 p.m. that night at the tennis courts at Memorial Field when he came upon two parked vehicles.

The officer took a closer look, as the courts were closed at the time. His subsequent investigation revealed that the cars' four occupants were in possession of marijuana, police said.

Police arrested two 17-year-old boys from Franklin Lakes and 16- and 17-year-old boys from Wyckoff. All four were charged on juvenile complaints and released to a parent.

  • An employee of Bethany Church reported the theft of a laptop computer on Jan. 12.

The computer, which is used for church programs, was taken from an equipment room, police said. It is valued at $2,600.

  • A Coolidge Terrace resident reported a home burglary on Jan. 11.

The homeowner told police that the house was unoccupied from 11:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. that day. The resident returned home to find that someone had broken in via the rear door. Jewelry was reported stolen.
