Teaneck Man Hit With Drug Charge

Police arrest teen after alleged drinking party

Wyckoff police recorded the following arrests recently:

  • A Teaneck man was arrested on DWI and narcotics charges following a traffic stop on Oct. 21.

Patrolman Brian Zivkovich stopped James Chu, 22, on Grandview Avenue after he said Chu was driving erratically on Route 208. Police said Chu was under the influence, and that the ensuing investigation uncovered marijuana.

Chu was charged with DWI, reckless driving, failure to stop for a stop sign and possession of marijuana. He is scheduled to appear in Municipal Court on Nov. 12.

  • A township teen was charged with making property available to minors to drink alcohol after police busted an alleged drinking party on Oct. 18.

Sgt. Michael Ragucci and Patrolmen Ryan Tenney had responded to Wishingwell Road on a citizen's report of an underage drinking party in progress. They said they found about 20 cars at the home and that numerous people fled upon their arrival. Tenney and Ragucci reported finding beer throughout the house.

The homeowner's 17-year-old son was arrested and charged on a juvenile complaint.
