Police: Resident stole 82 bags of frozen shrimp

A Stop & Shop employee and resident was charged with shoplifting items from the store over a four-day period.

Police said Justin D. Tamboer, 30, of Godwin Avenue was being investigated by store security for several days, with the investigation culminating in criminal charges on March 8.

Tamboer allegedly stole 82 bags of frozen shrimp over the four-day period, police said. The shrimp was valued at $1,147.

Sgt. Michael Ragucci and Officers Brenda Groslinger and Kevin Kasak investigated the alleged theft.

  • A Wyckoff mother and daughter were both charged with assault after police responded to a domestic violence call.

Authorities went to a Cedar Hill Avenue home at approximately 3:43 a.m. March 7 to find a 54-year-old resident and her 21-year-old daughter in an argument. Police said the mother struck her daughter with a broom, and the daughter struck her mother with her hands.

Both sustained minor injuries and were released on their own recognizance. They are scheduled to appear in Municipal Court on April 1.
