Burglar Strikes Franklin Lakes Quik Shop

The Quik Shop located in the Franklin Square Shopping Center was broken into early Sunday morning. Responding officers discovered that unknown persons had burglarized the store.

According to police on the scene, entry was gained through glass entrance door, which had apparently been smashed out by rocks. The break in occured just before 1:30 a.m. on Sunday. Some cash, coins and cartons of cigerettes were taken. 

“We believe that the burglary may have a connection with an arrest that Ringwood had made,” said Detective Lieutenant John Bakelaar. “Our detectives our currently investigating the possibility of a link between that arrest and this burglary.”

The Quik Shop storeowner did not wish to comment but did say that everything was fine, no one was hurt and no major damage was done.
