PSEG Utility Work to Force Closure of Cedar Hill and Ravine Avenues

Drivers should anticipate delays as construction crews make repairs to gas main beneath township streets

Township officials announced at a public meeting Tuesday night that PSEG utility work will stymie traffic in the township throughout much of August — first on a half-mile stretch of Cedar Hill Avenue then on Ravine Avenue.

The utility company, which has been replacing gas lines , has advised the township that through August 17 Cedar Hill Avenue between Wyckoff Avenue and Newtown Road would be closed.

Commuters traveling on Cedar Hill Avenue should expect delays.

The work is expected to take place 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday.

When crews there are finished, PSEG will dig in at Ravine Avenue between Grandview and Lafayette avenues, closing traffic there to all except homeowners who will retain access to their residences.

The work is expected to begin around August 20, and last approximately 12 days — through at least September 1.
