Alleged Drug Dealer's Stash Found During Traffic Stop, Police Say

Cops say the 23-year-old was initially pulled over for running a red light on Wyckoff Avenue.

A 23-year-old Wyckoff man was arrested Sunday after police say he was found driving through the township with at least six different types of drugs in his car, Wyckoff Police Chief Benjamin Fox said Thursday.

According to Fox, Sgt. Michael Demaio stopped Zachary Moore about 10:10 a.m. Sunday morning for running a red light at the intersection of Wyckoff and Cedar Hill Avenues.

A smell of marijuana in Moore’s car prompted cops to get a warrant to search the car, Fox said. Fox said they found the following drugs inside in different containers:

  • Sixteen 30mg oxycodone pills hidden in an Advil container
  • Eight 30mg morphine sulphate pills in a plastic bag
  • Forty-eight 30mg oxycodone pills in a plastic bag
  • Alprazolam, or Xanax, in a container
  • Oxycodone and naproxen in various other containers throughout the car
  • Ground prescription medications in powder form in a bottle

In addition to various possession charges for the drugs listed above, Moore was charged with possession of oxycodone and morphine with an intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia, Fox said.

Moore was released of his own recognizance and the complaints have been referred to the Bergen County Superior Court, police said.
