The Wyckoff Police Department will be stepping up drunken driving patrols from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
The department takes a "no warnings" approach to drinking and driving due to the high accident rate "associated with individuals who attempt to drive with a blood alcohol content that is over the legal limit," Chief Benjamin Fox said.
During the period of heightened scrutiny, the department will have additional officers on special DWI patrol. Their only duty will be to seek and arrest drunken drivers on Wyckoff roads.
