Police Recover Pompton Lakes Suspect

Man wanted in Passaic County found walking Sicomac at night, cops say

Wyckoff police arrested a Pompton Lakes man on domestic violence charges and a local resident on drunken driving charges in two separate incidents last week.

Sgt. Kenneth Brown reported that he observed Edis Ismajloski, 27, of Pompton Lakes walking on Sicomac Avenue at 3 a.m. Feb. 21, wearing no shoes and only a light jacket on a chilly night, police said. Police said he had "no plausible explanation" for why he was walking through the township in such a state in the middle of the night.

Police called the Pompton Lakes police after Ismajloski identified himself as a resident of that municipality, and authorities there informed Wyckoff that Ismajloski was wanted following an alleged domestic violence incident there.

The suspect was transported to Pompton Lakes where he was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, terroristic threats and criminal mischief. He was lodged in Passaic County Jail on $100,000 bail.

  • A 47-year-old resident was charged with drunken driving after a traffic stop on Thursday.

Patrolman Ryan Tenney pulled over Timothy B. Stott of Eder Avenue at 12:23 a.m. that morning after the officer allegedly clocked the resident doing 51 mph on Brookside Avenue, which is a 35-mph zone. Tenney determined that Stott was under the influence of alcohol, although the resident refused a breath test, police said.
