Police: Dental Student Faked Prescription

Wyckoff boy charged with possessing alcohol

Police arrested a Waldwick man on charges he forged a prescription in an attempt to buy pain pills from a Wyckoff pharmacy.

Robert W. Frega, 24, attempted to fill a prescription for Percodan pain tablets at the Walgreen's on Wyckoff Avenue on Dec. 21, police said. Patrolman Brian Zivkovich had responded to the pharmacy after a store employee called the doctor listed on the prescription and determined that the prescription was fraudulent, police said.

A subsequent investigation by Detective Joseph Soto determined that Frega is a dental student assigned to the office of a Riverdale dentist as part of his schooling. Police allege that Frega took a blank prescription from a pad in the office and wrote a script for Percodan, which he told police was needed for foot pain from a prior injury.
