Police Charge Motorcyclist With Eluding And Speeding

The man allegedly led police on a chase from 208 to Colonial Road.

A 21-year-old Lodi man was arrested by Franklin Lakes Police Thursday after Fair Lawn Police sent a report that several motorcycles were speeding north on Route 208, police said.

According to police, Yerson Ortiz did not stop when officers signaled him to, then exited at Colonial Road and ditched his motorcycle on Sioux Lane. Police found Ortiz hiding in nearby bushes.

Police arrested and charged Ortiz with eluding, speeding, unregistered motor vehicle, improper passing, fictitious license plates, driving while suspended, failure to obey traffic signal, unsafe lane change and failure to signal turn.
