Police Charge Former Doctor With Fraudulently Obtaining Drugs

Wyckoff Police charged Lisa Cannon for burglaries last month.

A former doctor, already charged with several counts of burglary and practicing medicine without a license, is now facing charges that she fraudulently obtained Lunesta and Klonopin from a Midland Park pharmacy, according to Chief Benjamin Fox.

Lisa Cannon, 46, was with four counts of burglary, four counts of theft, two counts of possession of stolen property and one count of practicing medicine without a license last month. , police added more counts of burglary and theft for a $1,000 bicycle.

Police allege Cannon used a flashlight, screwdriver, hammer and rubber gloves during "nighttime burglary sprees."

With the latest charges, police allege that Cannon wrote prescriptions after her medical license was expired and obtained the drugs with a fake name.

Cannon was released on $50,000 bail from Bergen County Jail November 1. She is now being held on $100,000 bail.
