Police: Burglars Hit Three Cars in One Franklin Lakes Driveway

Burglars made off with an expensive camera from one of the unlocked cars, police say.

Another Franklin Lakes family has learned the “lock your car doors” lesson local cops have been preaching the hard when three of their cars were burglarized over the weekend, borough police said Monday.

Burglars searched through three cars parked in the driveway of a Conestoga Court home sometime Saturday night, Det. Lt. John Bakelaar said Monday. All three cars were unlocked, police said.

The burglars made off with a $500 camera that was inside one of the cars, Bakelaar said.

Homes in Franklin Lakes and Wyckoff have been hit recently with home and car burglaries, as well as stolen cars, and local cops have issued several warnings to residents about keeping their parked cars locaked.

Bakelaar commented that it is difficult to identify patterns between this and other recent car burglaries in the area because “most are similar.”
