Police: Burglars Bust Door Open, Lift Jewelry from Borough Home

Burglars broke down the door and entered the home in the middle of the day, cops say.

Burglars who broke into a Franklin Lakes home Friday afternoon made off with a yet-to-be-determined amount of jewelry, borough police Detective Lt. John Bakelaar said in a release Monday.

At about 1:41 p.m. Friday, police responded to an activated burglar alarm at a home on Scholar Court, Bakelaar said. Cops found no one in the home, but found that the front door had been forced open, he said.

According to cops, the burglars mainly hit the home’s office and bedrooms, and stole mainly jewelry from the home.
