Paterson Carjacking Ends in Franklin Lakes Crash
Pursuit through North Haledon ended on High Mountain Road, police said.
A police chase through Paterson and North Haledon Thursday night ended with a crash in the front yard of a Franklin Lakes home, police said.
The pursuit, which by the end involved four police departments, began with an alleged carjacking in Paterson. The city’s police department told Northjersey.com that three women in their 20s were parked in a 2010 Honda Accord when four men ordered them out of the car at gunpoint.
“Our participation was very limited,” Franklin Lakes chief Joseph Seltenrich said. “The carjacking was initiated in Paterson and came up through North Haledon.”

He said that borough police got involved around midnight, when the car crashed in a front yard on High Mountain Road nearing Ewing Avenue.
North Haledon officers arrested one of the men, and Franklin Lakes and Bergen County Police K-9 units searched the neighborhood for the remaining three, according to police.
