"Organized Burglarly Groups" Target Unlocked Cars

Police Urge Residents to Report Unusual Activity

Wyckoff Police are asking residents to report any suspicious activity they witness after for the second consecutive week.

According to Police Chief Benjamin Fox, the burglars move from car to car at night, checking door handles to see if the vehicle is open. If the door is locked, they will not break in.

The town released a public service announcement this week urging residents to report anything "out of the ordinary." Chief Fox said the thieves may dress neatly and drive expensive cars so they appear to fit in the areas they target. According to the announcement, "organized burglary groups are believed to be responsible" for the crimes.
