Motorists to be Detoured for Godwin Avenue Work

Milling and paving to occur Thursday and Friday, off Godwin/Franklin intersection

Motorists heading into the center of the township next Thursday and Friday should anticipate delays.

A stretch of Godwin Avenue will be closed to allow the River Drive Construction Co. to mill and pave the road, from the future TD Bank at 290 Godwin Ave. to the thoroughfare's intersection with Franklin Avenue.

Motorists traveling northbound on Godwin will be detoured left onto Franklin Avenue; right onto Main Street; right onto Wyckoff Avenue; right onto Greenwood Avenue; and left onto Godwin Avenue.

Those traveling southbound will be detoured right onto Greenwood Avenue; left onto Wyckoff Avenue; left onto Main Street; left onto Franklin Avenue; and right onto Godwin Avenue. Shoppers seeking to access the Franklin Square Shopping Center will be able to do so via Franklin Avenue.

The road work will be performed from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Work is not expected to last into the evenings or weekend unless weather or any unforeseen situations interfere with the company's plans.

Police advise motorists to anticipate delays and plan an alternate route if they choose not to follow the detour.
