Man Struck by Car, Airlifted to Hospital from Franklin Lakes

The injured man was flown from McBride Field with unknown injuries by a Hackensack University Medical Center helicopter

A person injured after being involved in a car versus vehicle accident in Franklin Lakes was transported to the hospital via helicopter Friday afternoon, according to multiple reports.

The injured person was riding a bicycle when he and a car collided, according to a woman who claimed to have been on the scene of the accident.

She said the man was breathing when she arrived at the scene.

Franklin Lakes Police were unavailable for comment at the time of this report.

The accident happened shortly before 1 p.m. on Friday on Summit Avenue near its intersection with Clark Road, according to unconfirmed reports.

At approximately 1:20 p.m., a Wyckoff Ambulance Corps vehicle transporting the patient arrived at McBride Field on Franklin Lake Avenue where a helicopter was waiting from Hackensack University Medical Center.  

The patient was loaded in the helicopter, which lifted off at 1:35 p.m.
