Man Crashes into Pole, Runs Away

A man knocked down a pole on Lafayette Ave. last night, police said.

An unidentified man crashed a car into a pole on Lafayette Avenue and ran away last night, according to Wyckoff police.

A neighbor said he saw the man flee into a wooded area near the intersection of Lafayette and Colgate Avenue after 3:30 a.m.

Police Chief Benjamin Fox said police are working with the owner of the 2009 Cadillac CTS to determine who the driver could have been, but nobody has been arrested.

“We expect to resolve this, but have not yet,” Fox said.

The driver reportedly fled in the direction of Wyckoff Avenue.
