Hundreds of Dollars of Jewelry Lifted from Franklin Lakes Biz

Pop in Please owner: Items were returned, but charges will be filed against alleged shoplifter

A shoplifter walked out of a trendy Franklin Lakes boutique shop last week with hundreds of dollars worth of jewelry, according to the owner of .

The chic boutique's owner, Ivy Becker, alleges that a "troubled girl in town" stole about $500 worth of miscellaneous jewelry.

The theft at the Franklin Avenue business occurred Thursday or Friday of last week, according to Lt. John Bakelaar, who, citing an ongoing investigation, was otherwise mum on details surrounding the shoplifting incident.

Becker said that all of the stolen jewelry had been returned to the store, though not by the girl who stole it.

The store owner said she would be pressing charges, but declined further comment on details pertaining to the alleged shoplifter or her family.
