Wyckoff man flees from accident, nabbed later in Shrewsbury

A Wyckoff man who fled the scene of an accident in Monmouth County that sent two to the hospital was later located in a neighboring town and charged with drunken driving and other offenses, police said Tuesday.

Kieran H. Finnegan, 31, was charged with driving while intoxicated and two counts of assault by auto stemming from a crash near Belmar Boulevard in Wall Township around 8:20 p.m. Monday, Wall Police Sgt. Frank Lancellotti said.

Aaron Doynow, 49, of Colts Neck and his 13-year-old son, the driver and passenger of the car Finnegan hit, were taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune Township, with minor injuries following the crash, Lancellotti said.

Finnegan left the scene, but witnesses were able to identify the vehicle and surrounding police departments were notified, Lancellotti said.
