Godwin Paving Slowing Traffic Into Downtown

Road closed from intersection with Franklin Avenue to Greenwood Avenue

Traffic flow into the center of the township continues to be impacted by road work on Godwin Avenue.

Construction crews are currently milling the thoroughfare from the intersection with Franklin Avenue to Greenwood Avenue, with Godwin closed to motorists along that stretch of road. County police are posted at the intersection as well as just off Greenwood Avenue to assist with traffic.

The closure does not restrict access to the Franklin Square Shopping Center or Stop & Shop, although motorists are being detoured through the business triangle. Those traveling north on Godwin are being directed to make a left onto Franklin Avenue; to get back to Godwin, those motorists are heading to Main Street, Wyckoff Avenue, Greenwood Avenue and back onto Godwin.

Those driving south on Godwin are routed onto Greenwood and can get back to the thoroughfare by making a left onto Wyckoff Avenue, turning onto Main Street, and reaching Franklin Avenue to head back to Godwin.

The crews are expected to be working until 6 p.m. today and will return at 7 a.m. Friday to pave the county road. Work is expected to be completed Friday.
