Franklin/Main Road Work Delayed

No firm date yet on stormwater pipe replacement

Work that promised to complicate traffic in downtown Wyckoff today has been delayed.

The township does not yet know when Bergen County will send a contractor to replace an underground stormwater pipe under the railroad tracks, across from the Franklin Avenue and Main Street intersection, next to the Boulder Run Shopping Center.

The request for the delay came from the railway, according to Town Hall.

Police had planned to restrict Franklin traffic to one lane from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., allowing alternate travel from Main Street to Godwin Avenue while contractors replaced the busted pipe. The job is expected to take one day, weather permitting. Motorists will be able to access nearby businesses while traffic is restricted.

Patch will provide updates when a construction date is selected, and the township will post information on its website, www.wyckoff-nj.com/.
