Source said barn would be razed following morning fire

A 2-story barn caught on fire Tuesday morning on Pulis Avenue in Franklin Lakes. Borough firefighters, as well as crews from Wyckoff and surrounding towns, responded to the blaze that sparked sometime around 8 a.m.

The fire was extinguished approximately an hour later, but the barn wouldn't likely be repaired according to an insurance adjuster on the scene Tuesday morning.

According to sources on the scene no one was injured battling the 2-alarm fire.

Traffic was slowed and backed up hundreds of feet as police directed vehicles travelling west on Franklin Avenue near Summit Avenue.

Franklin Lakes Fire Chief Denny Knubel did not return a request for comments earlier Tuesday.

I haven't looked into it myself, but according to this report on NorthJersey.com the barn was built in the 1800s. http://bit.ly/IhwYGB
