Crossing Guard's Holiday Spirit

Police chief grateful for guards' efforts

To the delight of the children at Washington Elementary School, Wyckoff crossing guard Eileen DeCeglia helped to celebrate Thanksgiving on Wednesday by wearing a festive turkey hat at her post at Monroe and Van Houten avenues.

Police Chief Benjamin C. Fox extends his appreciation to DeCeglia and all the crossing guards who work for the Wyckoff Police Department. Fox said they are dedicated individuals who ensure the safety of children through all weather conditions.

The chief also reminds motorists to obey crossing guards' instructions and to follow all road regulations, especially during the hours when children are going to and from school.
