Cops: Two Hospitalized, Six Charged After Franklin Lakes House Party

Police say they may be charging additional teenagers and adults in connection with the Memorial Day weekend party.

Two teens were hospitalized and at least six people are facing charges after a Memorial Day weekend party gone wrong, Franklin Lakes Police Detective Lt. John Bakelaar said in a release Monday.

According to Bakelaar, cops responded to a call of an intoxicated, unconscious 17-year-old girl at a Linden Way home at about 11:35 p.m. Sunday. Cops say they found a house party, and arrested at least four people in connection with serving underage drinkers.

Two intoxicated teens were transported to Valley Hospital, Bakelaar said. He did not comment on their condition.

A 21-year-old Oakland resident was arrested and charged with purchasing and supplying alcohol to underage persons, a 20-year-old from Franklin Lakes arrested and charged with maintaining a nuisance, and two Wyckoff 19-year-olds were arrested and charged with underage consumption, Bakelaar said.

A Franklin Lakes 17-year-old was charged with maintaining a nuisance, serving alcohol to underage persons, and disorderly conduct, police said. Another teen was charged with underage consumption, and more charges may follow as the investigation into the party continues, police said.

The juvenile charges will be forwarded to Bergen county Family Court, police said.
