Cops Search for Two Men After Possible Attempted Burglary

Authorities were unable to apprehend either of the two men who attempted to break into an Aztec Trail home Monday afternoon, according to Franklin Lakes Police.

Two men attempted to illegally enter the man's home at approximately 2 p.m. Monday, the man told borough cops.

One of the men tried to force his way through a rear sliding door and the second man tried to force his way through a garage door, but both were unsuccessful and the homeowner contacted police. 

The homeowner made visual contact with the suspects who then moved around to the side of the house nearest to Creole Lane, at which point he lost sight of them, according to a police report.

Borough police responded and the Bergen County Police K-9 unit was called in to track the suspects, but was unsuccessful in locating them, police said. 

The first suspect is a Hispanic male in his twenties, dark hair, approximately 5'8", with scruffy facial hair, wearing a light blue t-shirt, jeans and work boots, according to Franklin Lakes Police.

The second suspect is being described by police as a Hispanic male in his twenties, with dark hair, short height, medium build, wearing a blue sweatshirt and jeans.

Sgt. Karl Klein, Detectives Anthony Pacelli, Jeffrey Jost and Officers Robert Grassi, Denny Knubel and Frank O’Brien from the Franklin Lakes Police Department investigated and Wyckoff Police assisted.
