Cops Charge 2 Men in August Car Burglaries

Franklin Lakes Police filed charges against the men after a stolen debit card was allegedly used to make more than $700 in purchases

Two men — including one from Oakland — have been charged in connection with a .

Matthew Krzysik, 21, of Oakland, and Ryan Goodyear, 19, of Charlotte, N.C., were charged on two counts of burglary to a motor vehicle, two counts of theft and one count of identity theft, police said Monday.

Franklin Lakes Police, with the assistance of Oakland and Ringwood police, arrested the men after a debit card stolen from the was allegedly used to make purchases totalling approximately $700 locally and in New York City, according to Franklin Lakes Police Lieutenant John Bakelaar.

Goodyear was sent to the Passaic County Jail on charges filed by the Ringwood Police Department. Krzysik was sent to Bergen County Jail on charges filed by the Oakland Police Department. Bail has been set at $25,000 for each person for the charges initiated by Franklin Lakes Police.
