Cops: Burglar Clogs Bathroom Sink, Steals Gun and Jewelry from Wyckoff Home

Bridal Patch resident returned home Sunday night to find a leak in the ceiling and a pried-open safe, police said.

Wyckoff police are looking for a burglar who they say clogged the bathroom sink of a Bridal Path home and made off with jewelry, cash, and a handgun, Chief Benjamin Fox said in a release this week.

According to Fox, a resident returned home at about 9:45 p.m. Sunday to find water coming through the ceiling. When he went upstairs, he found that  bathroom sink had been clogged with towels and the water turned on, cops said.

The man also found that the home's bedrooms had been ransacked, and a safe in the home pried open, Fox said. Jewelry, an undisclosed amount of cash, a handgun, and ammunition were stolen from the safe, Fox said.
