Burglary on Orchard Lane

Plus student caught in possession of illegal prescription medication.

A home on Orchard Lane was burglarized sometime between March 14 and March 16. According to police, suspects kicked in a rear door of the home and ransacked the master bedroom.  A yet-to-be determined amount of cash and jewelry were taken.  The Bergen County Sheriff’s Department Bureau of Criminal Identification processed the crime scene.  

This is the third home burglary reported this year in Franklin Lakes. The first occurred Jan. 10 on Sunset Terrace and the second on Jan. 27 on High Woods Drive. Police said it is unknown at this time whether or not these burglaries are related.

On Wednesday, a 14-year-old student at Ramapo High School was found to be in illegal possession of six prescription pills. According to police, charges will be forwarded to the Bergen County Family Court. DARE Officer, Detective Jeffrey Jost investigated.
