Bergen County Jail to be Featured on MSNBC Prison Documentary

Six episodes of 'Lockup' featuring the prison will begin airing on March 1.

An MSNBC prison documentary series is set to feature the Bergen County Jail on a string of episodes airing next month, the Bergen County Sheriff’s Officer announced in a release Wednesday.

Lockup, a documentary that profiles inmates, incidents, and prison operations at jails across the country, will run six episodes about the Hackensack prison starting March 1.

According to the release, the show filmed at the BCJ from June to October of last year, often filming 40 to 60 hours a week.

“Our corrections officers and staff at the Jail are dedicated to running an efficient operation,” Sheriff Michael Saudino said in the release.

“I am very thankful for their professionalism, and I look forward to their hard work being showcased in this documentary. The Bergen County Jail is one of the finest correctional facilities in the state.”
