Man Charged With Exposing Himself To Children in Franklin Lakes

Police say Frank Lovato, 74, stood naked in his front window as children passed

Police arrested a Tortoise Lane resident Wednesday night who they say stood naked in the front window of his Franklin Lakes home while children were passing on their way both to and from school.

Police received reports from neighbors on February 27 and 28 that Frank Lovato had been exposing himself out his front window, according to

Cops conducted a two-week investigation and charges were filed by the Franklin Lakes Police Department's Detective Bureau.

Lovato turned himself in Wednesday and was charged with four counts of lewdness and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He faces up to 5 years in prison. 

Lovato was not attempting to communicate with anyone from his home at the time of the alleged crime, Franklin Lakes Police Lieutenant John Bakelaar said.

Lovato has no prior arrest record with the borough.
