Local Business walks for Autism Speaks
Walking under the team name Franklin Lakes Cares, Axis Insurance Services employees and friends raised $11,541 of the estimated $322,766 raised at the North Jersey walk, the fourth most of any group that participated in the walk. CEO Mike Smith personally raised $5,336 which as an individual was the fourth most raised of any walker in support of this worthy cause.
Recent statistics show an alarming trend. One in 68 children are now diagnosed with this developmental disorder more than AIDS, Diabetes and Cancer.. The statistics also show that one in 42 boys and one in 189 girls will be diagnosed with this social developmental disorder,
When asked how he felt about reaching this goal Mike replied, “I’m proud to be part of such a great organization and that our company surpassed our goal of $10,000.”
