Christmas Eve Family Tradition

A family has been attending Christian Health Care Center's Christmas Eve Service for 16 years.

Christmas Eve Family Tradition … Nancy Mericle, RN, Heritage Manor Nursing Home/Southgate Nursing Services Director at Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) in Wyckoff, and her family have been attending CHCC’s Christmas Eve Service for 16 years. Mrs. Mericle said that she wanted her sons to appreciate that the service was Christmas for the residents instead of focusing on the gifts they were excited to receive. Now that her sons are grown, they help transport the residents to and from the service. Pictured, from left, are sons James Kopp, a resident of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Andy Mericle, Mrs. Mericle and her husband Tony Mericle, and son Chris Mericle, all residents of Oakland. Chris is also employed at CHCC in the Materials Management Department. Mrs. Mericle’s other two sons were unable to attend this year, although they have attended for the past 15 years. Ben Kopp and his wife Mandy reside in Houston, and Mandy has also helped for the last four years. Her other son David Kopp is a resident of Seattle, WA.
