Christian Health Care Center Residents and Staff Enjoyed "Spreading the Love" Cupcake Decorating Contest

Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) in Wyckoff recently created a new service-excellence team called the Partners in Care team which is designed to foster relationships between staff and residents through meaningful quarterly events. To participate, a staff member must team up with a resident or residents to complete the designated project together. The first quarter event was a “Spreading the Love” cupcake-decorating contest. Employees were invited to judge the creative
entries in the Employee Dining Room. The winning entry was created by residents
of Hillcrest Residence, an independent home for seniors at CHCC, under the
guidance of Rev. Kathy Jo Blaske, MDiv, Hillcrest Chaplain.

Upcoming events sponsored by the Partners in Care Team include a “Together We
Bloom in CHCC” floral-arranging contest, a “Create a Crazy Hat” day, and a
“Tree of Thanks,” when staff will be assigned to five residents to ask what
they are thankful for. Staff will write the answers on a leaf, and the tree of
thanks will be displayed in CHCC’s Auditorium during the campus-wide
Thanksgiving Worship Service. The Partners in Care team also plans a campus-wide 100th birthday party to celebrate all of the centurions at CHCC.

CHCC provides a broad continuum of high-quality, compassionate care, offering superior mental-health, elder-care, residential living and rehabilitation services. As a non-profit organization, we deliver care to our community based upon the Christian principles on which we were founded more than a century ago.
