YMCA Buddy Walk to Benefit Down Syndrome

The Wyckoff Family YMCA eighth annual Bergen Buddy Walk will be held Saturday, Oct. 13

The Wyckoff Family YMCA and the Northern NJ Down Syndrome Alliance are pleased to present the eighth annual Bergen Buddy Walk on Saturday, Oct. 13  — rain or shine — at the Wyckoff Family YMCA. Registration begins at 10:00am and the walk will begin at 11:00am.

The Buddy Walk has three primary goals:

  • To promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome
  • To raise funds both locally and nationally for education, research, and advocacy programs
  • To enhance the position of the Down syndrome community

The Walk raises support for research and education as well as the Billy’s Buddies and Shining Star Express programs offered by the Wyckoff Family YMCA.

Some of the day’s events include:  live music, a real fire truck to explore, children’s face painting, exhibits and information from special needs organizations, games, giveaways, prizes, and food as well as the one-mile “Buddy Walk.”

Sponsorships and registrations are currently being accepted.  Registration fees for the Walk are:  $10 per adult, $5 per child (12 and under).  Registration include a t-shirt, lunch, (while supplies last) and full access to all the day’s events.  All donations are 100 percent tax-deductible.
