Review: Ilchi Lee's Book Signing and Talk at Ramapo College September 7, 2012

Author and meditation expert Ilchi Lee discussed his New York Times bestselling book The Call of Sedona: Journey of the Heart at Ramapo College to an attentive audience of 200-plus attendees.

On Friday, September 7th, 2012, renowned meditation expert and New York Times bestselling author Ilchi Lee appeared at the Trustees Pavilion at Ramapo College to discuss his most recent book, The Call of Sedona: Journey of the Heart. The evening began with a proclamation from Mahwah Mayor William C. Laforet proclaiming September 7th, 2012, Ilchi Lee Day, in recognition of Lee’s contribution to promoting peace thru many educational initiatives around the world, including Bergen County. Lee was noticeably moved by this official recognition. Lee has maintained a strong connection to Bergen County since the early 1990s, for it was here for that he first established his work in the United States. From the joy of the Mayor’s proclamation, Lee launched into an enthusiastic 90-minute talk. Lee’s speaking style is very natural and comfortable and he makes the listener feel as if he is speaking directly to them. At first he spoke from the podium with quiet intensity. Then, he came from behind the podium and his manner became much more animated and playful. Lee joyfully engaged the attentive audience of 200-plus attendees and there was much smiling and laughter throughout the evening.

Lee mentioned how inspired he feels by the beauty of Sedona, Arizona. Lee’s core message revolved around the theme that by communicating with the beauty of Sedona through meditation, one can quiet their emotions and connect to their true, unchanging self. From this deep place within, one will realize that our soul is infinitely beautiful and connected with all of creation.
