Borough Plans Halloween Trunk-or-Treat

Officials say last year's event was a success, so they hope to continue that this year.

Kids in Franklin Lakes can get their trick-or-treat on at a borough event this Halloween. The town's Public Events Committee recently released the details of its planned trunk-or-treat, in which families will set up their cars full of candy, and kids will trick-or-treat from car to car.

The borough released the following information about the Halloween event:

The Public Events Committee, in conjunction with the K-8 schools, would like to invite everyone to come to DeKorte Drive for Trunk or Treating, on Thursday, October 31, from 4to 6 p.m.

We ask that residents come and hand out candy to children. Just bring your car to DeKorte Drive parking lot, set up for the trunk or treaters, decorate your trunk, come in costume if you would like and hand out candy.

Cars parked and participating in Trunk or Treating will stay for the duration of the event. A portion of the lot will be set aside for participants to stand and hand out candy and leave when they would like. Residents will be allowed to drop off candy prior to the event at the Borough Hall. It was a big success last year and lots of fun, so please join in.
