March of Dimes Names Wyckoff Woman Nurse of the Year

Joann LaBounty works in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Valley Hospital.

The New Jersey chapter of March of Dimes has named a Valley Hospital nurse from Wyckoff Nurse of the Year, Valley announced in a release Thursday.

The March of Dimes held a ceremony earlier this month honoring 17 local nurses, including Wyckoff’s Joann LaBounty, RN, who was honored for her work in the hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

“It is no surprise to me that Joann received this prestigious recognition,” Ann Marie Leichman, Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer at Valley, said in the release. “She is an outstanding nurse who not only always puts the needs of her patients and families first, but also makes significant contributions to the profession of nursing.  We are so pleased she was honored for her work."
