Understanding Dementia: Caring About the Caregiver

JFSNJ Sam and Nina Wolf Caregiver Support Center and Arden Courts of Wayne present Part II of II: Understanding Dementia: Caring About The Caregiver.

Part II focuses on you, the caregiver, and the importance of self-care in preventing burnout.  Taking care of yourself includes stress management, time management, and managing negative emotions.  This session will explore the different care options available and some of the considerations when weighing the difficult decision of what's best for your loved one and for you.  In addition, Michael A. Manna, an eldercare attorney, will help you understand legal responsibilities and the importance of planning ahead.

The panel includes Danielle Hertler, LSW, Arden Courts; Elaine Gordon, Griswold Home Care; Michael A. Manna, Esq. and Melanie Lester, LSW, Jewish Family Service of North Jersey.

Program is free and open to the community but advance registration is required and space is limited.  Light refreshments will be served (dietary laws observed).
