Lessons in Sustainability From the Sourland Mountains

The Sourland Mountains, a 90-square-mile region intersecting

three counties in west central New Jersey, is the last remaining wilderness between Manhattan and Philadelphia. The Sourlands is threatened with destruction from deer overpopulation, loss of native plant species, hurricane damage and climate change, as expressed in the 2012 one-hour documentary, Sourlands. In this unusual program, we proudly
present this award-winning documentary, then New Jersey native and journalist Jared Flesher, the film’s director. Jared will join a panel of local environmental experts to discuss why the troubles of the Sourlands should matter to all New Jersey residents and how they impact us
right here in Wyckoff.
