Still Heading Down My Road to 13.1

Working on being able to cross the finish, but I still need help getting to the Start Line.

Last week I started to chronicle my efforts in training for a 1/2 marathon in: My Road to 13.1. So here are some updates.

Today is the last day of week 2 of training, and I have 2.5 miles ahead of me later this evening. Since the weather has been SO cold, all of my running has been confined to the treadmill at my gym. And running on a treadmill really leaves something to be desired. But so it goes.

I have attached/uploaded an image of my training schedule. It was written out by a professional personal trainer who knows my athletic abilities and knows that I am physically capable of completing the task set forth. I am not a medical professional or personal trainer and by sharing this I am by no means saying that this is an appropriate training regimen for everyone. I am sharing to show how I am working to complete a half marathon.

I've been a little underwhelmed with my performance so far, and I hope that by continuing with the training I will become a little faster. I also hope that I can find where it is that my mind breaks free and I get that elusive runners high.

As far as the fundraising portion of the experience goes, I am a much happier with my progress. Just a quick recap- I am running the New York City 1/2 Marathon on the Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County team. In order to participate, I need to raise $1000 for Habitat Bergen. All of the money donated goes directly to Habitat Bergen, and I am responsible for paying my own registration fee. I have amazing friends and family that have given to the cause. I am at about 43% of my goal.

If anyone is interested in sponsoring me you can Donate Here. Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County is a 501c3 organization, and all donations can be used as a tax deduction for 2013.

Thanks for your support and for following. I'll post again with more updates.
