Week in Review: Easter Burglaries, 108 MPH Arrest and Housewives Party

Here's what you may have missed last week.

Burglars smashed the rear doors of three Wyckoff homes on Hil-Ray Avenue and Wiltsie Court and ransacked bedrooms Easter night before escaping police apprehension, according to police.

A Wood-Ridge man was drunk and driving at nearly twice the speed limit on Route 208 when he was arrested by police early Sunday, authorities said.

The incident echoed a fatal crash three weeks ago in Fair Lawn.

Five local teens were arrested after police say they found them trespassing with drug paraphernalia at a friend's parents' house Saturday night.

Cops found the three 17-year-olds and and two 18-year-olds on the property of a Pulis Avenue home after someone reported suspicious activity at the residence, according to Lieutenant John Bakelaar.

A trio of minors were taking turns firing a pellet-type gun in the backyard of a Franklin Avenue home Thursday afternoon when one of them shot a neighbor in the arm, resulting in charges against the 17-year-old alleged shooter, said.

The victim didn't sustain any serious injuries as a result, but the 17-year-old male who shot the Airsoft gun will be charged with simple assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, Franklin Lakes Lieutenant John Bakelaar said Monday. The juvenile charged was also the owner of the gun.
