Thieves Strike Local Residents, Multiple Injuries in Accident and More This Week

Midland Park Police closed Godwin Avenue from Irving Street to Central Avenue for approximately one hour Wednesday night following a 3-car accident that sent multiple people to the hospital.

A 2007 Toyota Highlander was taken overnight from a resident's Vance Avenue driveway last week. Police are also reporting the Colonial Avenue theft of approximately $325 worth of valuables from an unlocked car.

A $1,200 laptop was stolen out of an unlocked vehicle in a Franklin Lakes resident's driveway sometime overnight Tuesday, according to borough police.

Police believe an unlocked door at one Wyckoff residence may have helped make the home an easy target for burglars last weekend.

A Circle Drive resident Tuesday returned home from three days away to find her house had been burglarized while she was gone — jewelry, designer handbags and gift cards were stolen from a second floor bedroom,  said Thursday.

Two men had hundreds of dollars of personal property stolen from  lockers this week, police reported.
