Wyckoff-Franklin Lakes Eateries Nab 'Best in Bergen' Distinction

Which of Wyckoff’s eateries would you call the best in the county? How about places in Franklin Lakes?

Bergen Health and Life Magazine recently posted the results of its annual Best of Bergen Restaurant and Food Readers’ Choice Awards, and a few spots in Wyckoff and Franklin Lakes grabbed top honors.

Wyckoff’s Blue Moon Mexican Café took two top spots in the survey, coming in first in both the “Best Margaritas” category, and in the “Best Mexican Restaurant” category. It also came in second for “Best Taco,” behind Jalapenos Mexican Grille in Glen Rock.

Waldwick Prime Meats in Wyckoff also tied for first in the “Best Butcher” category with Karl Ehmer’s in Hillsdale.

In Franklin Lakes, the Market Basket received some accolades, topping both the “Best Caterer” and “Best Gourmet Grocery” categories.

And, a few eateries in each town finished with an honorable mention.

The Chef’s Table in Franklin Lakes came in third in the “Best French Restaurant” category, behind Harvest Bistro and Bar in Closter and Latour in Ridgewood, tied for first, and Madeleine’s Petit Paris in Northvale in second.

As far as the “Best Bagels” go, Goldberg’s Famous in Wyckoff came in second, behind Buono Bagels in Ramsey and ahead of Ronnie’s in Hillsdale.

The awards ranked restaurants in over 50 food categories including the best bagels, bakeries, burgers, Chinese restaurants, cupcakes, ice cream, Italian restaurants, Mexican restaurants, pizza, and more.
