Two Bergen Locations Victims of Company-Wide Crumbs Shut-Down

Cupcake bakery announced it will shut all of its locations.

Once-popular cupcake bakeries in Ridgewood and Paramus are two of the victims of a company-wide shut-down announced earlier this week.

According to an AP report, Crumbs Bake Shop announced earlier this week that it will be shutting all of its locations. NorthJersey.comreported this will include both the location in Ridgewood and the one in the Garden State Plaza in Paramus.

The bakery, which was founded in 2003, rapidly expanded to at least 65 locations and went public in 2011. However, according to the report it recently suffered from a “steep decline in sales,” and plans to file for bankruptcy.

Reports have speculated that the closure is a sign of the end of the cupcake boom and fad popularity of cupcake-based bakeries.
